The Festival of Lights 5K Run/Walk, which is a fund-raiser for the Children's Miracle Network, is an annual evening event held in the San Marco area of Jacksonville. The fast-growing race attracted more than 1,500 finishers this year.
The course passes through residential areas that are also part of the Gate River Run course, and was revised this year to relieve congestion for the large field.
Participants were given jingle bells to wear on their shoes and the streets were lined with luminaries. Entertainment was provided by carolers along the route.

| AIR members Kevin Ott, Kathy Duprey, and Carolyn Peeples were enjoying the festivities. Everett Crum was concentrating more on the upcoming competition and winning his age-group (which he did). |

Attire for the event was not typical of an ordinary competitive race. The young lady above on the left was dressed up like Santa Claus but much cuter. The couple in the center were wearing their Holiday Lights, and the lady pushing the baby jogger was disguised as Cupid, one of Santa's Reindeer. She didn't attempt to land on any roof tops in the neighborhood. |
There was a 5K race which was the primary reason for all the people to gather and here's a list of our AIR finishers -- if we missed you, please email us and let us know!
