AIR at the Native Sun Mandarin 10K November 3, 2007 - Jacksonville FL
Photos and account submitted by Rosa Haslip
(L-R) Everett Crum, Frank Frazier, Rosa Haslip, Keith and Gayla Poythress, and Bill Pennington
The cool weather and slight breeze were perfect conditions for running.
Bill's goal was to break 44:00 minutes which he did!
I was especially happy with my time (I ran about 1&1/2 minutes faster than last year!)
It was a large group of runners as usual for the Mandarin 10K, one of the oldest 10K's in Jacksonville.

At the Post-Race gathering, Rosa recalled, "Yesterday we were talking to Keith and Gayla about the post race activity at the Pumpkin Run and Bill said.."In golf they call it the 19th hole...what are we gonna call it for running?" and Gayla quickly came up with "The last water stop." So from now on we might have to tell folks to meet us at AIR's "last water stop" or let's get together at AIR's "the last water stop."
Rosa was trying to gather all the AIR members for a photo but couldn't find Randy Arend and Carolyn Peeples. Rosa said, " Carolyn was also there but she had to leave before I could get back with my camera. She's been fighting off bronchitis but still went down to Mandarin to get the 10K race in and then quickly headed back to her karate school where they were having a black belt competition."
Congratulations to our members who ran the Mandarin 10K.
