2008 Ortega River Run - Jacksonville, FL - Feb. 23, 2008

AIR's Varsity Competitive Team.

This was the 30th Annual Ortega River Run which is a popular race that draws over 1,200 runners. (It's a Jacksonville Grand Prix Event.) Perhaps it was the early morning rain showers combined with injuries to a number of our "Most Frequent Runners" but there were only a handful of members to carry the banner for AIR. However, those who did participate enjoyed the event and getting together for a while before and after the run. The five-mile course is like a mini-River Run in that it crosses the Ortega River twice. The second bridge has a decent incline but not in the same league as River Run's Hart Bridge. In the photo the left are; Keith Poythress, Gayla Poythress, Ed Hardee, Frieda Wyner, and Kevin Ott. They are drinking coffee or water since no alcoholic beverages were provided.

John TenBroeck told his "Norma-Jean" joke when Norm went to pick up Frieda's Award.

This clown was on hand to provide a circus atmosphere for the kid's fun run.
