The Pirates on the Run 5K/10K and Kids’ Runs will be Saturday, Feb. 6,at 8:30 a.m. with the starting point at St. Peter's Church (Atlantic Ave. at 9th St.), finishing at Central Park.

This great family event includes colorful pirates, long-sleeve T-shirts and a free pancake breakfast!

If you are unfamiliar with the location of St. Peter's Church, here are some directions.

Egan's Creek

Both race courses run through Fernandina's side streets and onto Egan's Creek Greenway where runners will enjoy beautiful views of nature and wildlife through a hard-packed, grass cross-country route.

Pirates in full costume will be posted along the course and handing out Mardi Gras beads to runners. Visit the Fernandina Pirates Club Website.

The scoring for the 5K and 10K races will be done with timing provided by 1st Place Sports.



THE GRAND DOOR PRIZE is a 2-night stay at the Residence Inn Amelia Island. They are also offering Special Rates for out-of-town runners coming for the Pirates Run.

KIDS' FUN RUNS
A half-mile and one-mile Fun Run for Children 10 and younger begins at 9:45 a.m. Children's entry fee is $10. All children must register to participate and finishers will receive a ribbon. Pre-Registered Kids will get a Short-Sleeve Pirates T-Shirt.

T-Shirt Artwork LONG-SLEEVE T-SHIRTS to all Pre-registered 5K & 10K Runners This year’s long-sleeve T-shirts will showcase another in local artist
Paul Massing’s gallery of swashbuckling subjects.

REGISTRATION & FEES for 5K and 10K races
$25.00 per person February 1 through day of race.

Preregistration is now closed as of Thursday February 4 at 2:00 p.m. Day of Race Registration will take place at Burns Hall of St. Peter's Episcopal Church from 7 to 8 a.m.

Champion Chip Pickup and Day of Race Registration: Begins at 7:00 a.m. at St. Peter's Church. NO REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 8:00 a.m. THE DAY OF RACE. Please register early. Chips must be returned after the race. You must wear a chip on your shoe to be included in the race results.

Race Packet/Number Pickup: All pre-registered runners can pick up race packets at Club 14 Fitness, 1114 South 14th Street Fernandina Beach, on Friday February 5, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Race Packets can also be picked up at St. Peter's Church on race-day beginning at 7:00 a.m.

Post Race Celebration: There will be a FREE pancake breakfast for all registered runners and walkers ($5 for others) - Plus lots of drawing prizes at the Awards Ceremony.

Race Proceeds Benefit - The Amelia Island Runners' scholarship program for high school runners, and the Fernandina Beach Police Auxiliary Corps.
