Running Camp Group Run
Our 2011 campers take part in a group run at FBHS, where they learned about strides, intervals and much more.

Our sixth annual Summer Running Camp was another great success, with another excellent "class" of talented and motivated runners! Once again this year, AIR volunteer Bill Beaumont, cross country coach at St. Michael's Academy, provided five days of spirited instruction on everything from the basics of running to fine points like how to prepare for races and run your best race. Coach Bill was ably assisted this year by camp co-director Brett Opalinski, and we thank them both for a wonderful job -- and we also thank all of the campers! AIR's summer camp is one of our club's top annual projects to help folks of all ages and abilities get "on the road" to running. If you missed it, we also have group runs each Wednesday from 6 to 7 p.m. (weather permitting) at the FBHS track, with free coaching available for everyone from beginners to accomplished racers. It's free and open to everyone, so please come over if you can!

A tradition of our summer camp is a "class picture" on the last day, and here it is. Great job, 2011 graduates, and happy running!
