Amelia Island Runners was proud to host this great event, which brought runners and walkers from Callahan, Waycross, Palm Coast and other distant points for a 7:30 a.m. start! They enjoyed warm-up exercises led by Liz Kawecki of Y Yoga, and a walk/run through scenic and shaded Fort Clinch State Park. The shade was welcome since it was a warm, humid morning, but the atmosphere was festive and pirates from the Fernandina Pirates Club helped keep things cool, handing out water along the way!
Proceeds from the event will go to Warrior Vacations, which provides free, well-deserved vacations for military personnel returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. Congratulations to everyone who participated and made the event a success!
